Java Fern
Java Fern likes to be attached to rocks and driftwood rather than to be buried in gravel (or any substrate) however, they cannot do this naturally themselves and need human intervention when in the aquarium. This can be done by tying them with thin wire, elastic bands, cotton thread or fishing line until their roots have buried themselves well around the driftwood or rock. Cotton thread is recommended because it will dissolve into the water after 2 months. It is a hardy plant.
